Barts Ranks Among Top 25 in South Region
Catawba sophomore women’s golfer, Kaley Barts (Apex, N.C.), ranks among the top 25 in the NCAA South Region after the fall season and one of the top five golfers in the South Atlantic Conference. She led the team in in all four events this fall.
Barts posted an 81.57 stroke average as a freshman, but has trimmed that to 74.88 this season. All eight of her rounds have been in the 70s or better, while recording a pair of top 10s and four top 20 finishes.
In taking a runner-up finish at the Patsy Rendleman Invitational, Barts set a school record for an 18-hole round with a four-under-par score of 68 as she birdied the final four holes. He score bettered the previous record of 69 that was held by four-time All-American Paige Haverty Stalcup and Madison Kennedy.
Barts and the Catawba women’s golf team will return to action in early February in the Barton Invitational at Kiawah.
