Track and Field Gets Underway at Finn Pincus Inv. on Friday
SALEM. Va. -- Catawba competed in three events on the opening day of the Finn Pincus Invitational Indoor Track and Field Meet at the Cregger Center. The Indians had teams in the distance medley relay and the women’s high jump. The meet will conclude on Saturday.
Samiyah Rasheed was the lone individual in action. She cleared a personal-best 1.43m in the women’s high jump and placed 11th.
Catawba fielded two teams in the men’s distance medley relay. Tom Joyce, Jai Morrow, Rontrel Felton and Ethan Bemis finished fifth with their time of 11:03.30. The second team, Michael Swepson, AJ Meadows, Austin Snide and Drew Lake, placed eighth (11:27.04).
In the women’s distance medley relay, Catawba posted a fourth-place finish. The team of Paula Sellers, Destini Shaver, Abbie Adams and Siearra Emmerson ran a time of 13:49.86.
