Women's Basketball Recognizes Six Seniors in Final Home Game of Season
SALISBURY, N.C. - - The Catawba Lady Indians women’s basketball team recognized six seniors at the Play for Kay game on Saturday. Catawba hosted number 3 Carson-Newman in their final home game of the regular season in Goodman. The Lady Indians fell to the visiting Eagles 49-80. Catawba drops to 13-12 overall and 11-7 in the South Atlantic Conference, while Carson-Newman improves to 25-1 and 17-1 in the SAC.
Catawba recognized Serena Brown, Marshauna Butler, Morgan Franklin, Briana Hodges, Alexis Newbold, and Terri Rogers as they played in their last regular season game in Goodman Gym.

led the Lady Indians with 14 points and seven rebounds. Butler and Hodges added eight and seven points respectively. Carson-Newman was led by Mika Wester’s 20 points.
The Eagles jumped out to a quick eight point lead within the first two minutes of play. They controlled the game allowing Catawba to only score 10 points as they took a 26-10 advantage into the second 10-minutes. Catawba scored 17 points in the second quarter but could not cut into Carson-Newman’s lead. The Lady Indians trailed 27-51 at the half. Carson-Newman led by double digits the remainder of the game.
Catawba will travel to Newberry on Wednesday for a 6 pm game.
