MARS HILL, N.C. - - The Catawba Indians won both games of the South Atlantic Conference baseball double header on Monday to sweep the conference series at Henderson Field. Catawba improves their record to 16-16 overall and 11-4 in the SAC, while Mars Hill drops to 7-20 and 3-12 in the conference.

earned a save for game one. Cameron Morrison
led the Indians offense going 2-for-3 with three RBIs. Jacob Nester and Joe Butts
each added two hits for Catawba.
Mars Hill took a quick 4-0 lead over the first three innings. Catawba scored their first run in the top of the fifth on a bases loaded walk. Heath Mitchem led off the sixth inning with a homerun down the right field line. Morrison doubled to right center later in the inning to plate two more runs to tie the game.
The Lions answered with two runs in the bottom half of the sixth inning to regain the lead. The Indians rallied in the top of the ninth, scoring five runs on three hits to take the 9-6 win.

, and Morrison each added two hits. Michael Elwell improved his record to 3-3 with the game two win, allowing three runs on four hits with five strikeouts over 5.1 innings pitched.
The Indians jumped on the board in the second inning scoring a run on two hits. Catawba plated two runs in the third and fourth innings to take a 5-0 lead. A six run fifth inning increased their advantage to 11. Mars Hill scored all seven of their runs in game two in the bottom of the sixth inning to cut the lead to 11-7. The Indians added three more runs in the top of the seventh to take game two, 14-7 and sweep the series.
Catawba will travel to Wilson, N.C. to play host Barton in a mid-week non-conference game on Tuesday at 2 pm.
