Men's Lacrosse Falls to #3 Lenoir-Rhyne
SALISBURY, N.C. -- Third-ranked Lenoir-Rhyne claimed a 20-11 win over host Catawba in South Atlantic Conference men’s lacrosse action on Wednesday night at Shuford Stadium. The Bears improve to 13-1 overall and 6-0 in the SAC, while the Catawba Indians drop to 5-7 and 3-3.
The Bears raced to a 7-2 lead after a quarter and never led Catawba closer than four goals the rest of the way. The Indians got within 8-4 and 10-6 before LR used a five-goal run spanning the second and third quarter to go up 15-6.
Justin Warnock scored three goals to pace Catawba. Dalton Cook had two goals with an assist and Cole Fanzo delivered a pair of goals. Joe Barber scored once and added three assists. Hunter Cheuvront picked up 15 saves.
Joe Buduo had six goals and two assists to pace the Bears. Ben Corrigan scored four goals with four assists. Ryan Bell and Myles Moffat each scored twice.
Catawba travels to Queens on Saturday at noon.
