Men's Lacrosse Falls at Queens
CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Queens pulled away from visiting Catawba in the third quarter and posted an 18-10 win in South Atlantic Conference men’s lacrosse action on Saturday afternoon at Dickson Field. The win improves the Royals to 8-5 overall and 5-2 in the SAC. The Catawba Indians fall to 5-8 and 3-4.
The Royals led 8-4 at the half then scored three goals in the opening three minutes of the third quarter to go up 11-5. By the end of the period, Queens led 15-6. Dalton Cook scored the game’s first goal before the Royals ran off five in a row. Justin Swick and Kyle Pucci each scored two of the goals for Queens.
Cook finished with three goals and an assist for Catawba. Cole Fanzo also notched three goals with Justin Warnock adding two. Keenan D’Arcy caused three turnovers and Hunter Cheuvront made a dozen saves in three quarters of action.
Reed Murphy led Queens with six points, scoring three goals with helpers. Kealan Pilon posted two goals and three assists. Swick put in three goals with Jessie Oliver getting two goals and two assists.
Catawba will finish up the regular season on Saturday as the Indians host Tusculum at 7 pm.
