Women's Golf in 10th After Opening Round of SAC Championships

ELGIN, S.C. -- Catawba is in 10th place after Sunday’s first round of the South Atlantic Conference Women’s Golf Championships. The three-day tournament will run through Tuesday and is taking place at the 5,830-yard, par-72 Members Club at Woodcreek.

Wingate leads after a round, posting a 310 score on Sunday. The Bulldogs lead Tusculum by six shots with Anderson another shot back. Catawba had a 338 total in round one.

Three golfers, Tusculum’s Cydney Murrell, Wingate’s Warissa Puangcharoen and Cameron Smith, of Queens, share the individual lead after an opening round of 75. Catawba’s Kaley Barts sands 14th with an 80 in the first round.
