KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Peyton Pruitt, a junior defender on the Catawba women’s soccer team, earned 2018 United Soccer Coaches Women's Scholar All-South Region Third Team honors.

“I'm very proud of Peyton for this accomplishment,” Head Coach Nick Brown said. “She does such a great job both on and off the field for us.”

This is the first such honor for the Davidson, North Carolina native, who carries a 3.92 grade-point average in integrated marketing communications. Pruitt is a two-time member of the South Atlantic Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll and the Catawba College Presidential Honor Roll. She qualified for the dean’s list each of her four semesters.

Pruitt is the eighth Lady Indian to be named to the Scholar All-Region Team and the ninth honor in program history.

On the field, she anchored the back line for Catawba, helping her team reach the NCAA tournament for the first time in 10 years.

“She knows how to manage her time on daily a basis and that is why she is able to perform at such a high level on the field and in the classroom,” Brown said. “Peyton would be a great person for an aspiring student-athlete to talk to on how to manage studies and their sport.”
