Three Earn Hansen All-Region Football Honors
BROOKFIELD, Ill. -- Catawba put three players on the 2018 Don Hansen All-Super Region Two Football Teams. Earning honors were senior tight end, Jourdan Osinskie, senior offensive guard, Qiunzavious Sands, and senior running back, Kenyatta Greene. The teams were announced on Friday. Osinskie and Sands were second team picks, while Greene earned third team honors as an all-purpose back.
Osinskie was slowed with injuries much of the season, but led Catawba in receiving with 28 catches totaling 359 yards. One of his catches went for a score. His best outing came at Mars Hill were he caught eight passes for 100 yards. He finished his career with 69 catches for 906 yards and five touchdowns.
Sands was a four-year starter, mainly at right guard, and makes his third appearance on the Hansen All-Region team. Her was a three-time first team All-South Atlantic Conference selection.
Greene led Catawba in rushing with 668 yards and seven scores. He was second to Osinskie with 27 receptions and two more touchdowns. As a punt returner, Greene averaged 13.7 yards on 13 returners with a 71-yard touchdown. In three years with Catawba, Greene finished 27th on the all-time rushing list with 1,428 yards, running for nearly six yards per carry and third best all-time.
