Women's Tennis Comes Up Short vs. Palm Beach Atlantic
HILTON HEAD, S.C. -- Catawba dropped a 4-2 decision to Palm Beach Atlantic on Tuesday morning. The Sailfish even their record at 3-3, while the Catawba Indians go to 7-2.
The teams did not play doubles and PBA took four of the singles matches. Sophie Hirsch grabbed a win at #2 for Catawba, rallying from a set down for a 10-4 victory in a third-set tiebreaker. Lauren Laughton took a straight set win at #6 to secure the other point. Carolina Correia lost in three sets at #4, falling 11-9 in the tiebreaker.
Catawba will face West Liberty on Wednesday in its final match at Hilton Head before returning home to open conference play on Saturday.
