Tip Times and Ticket Prices Set for Men's Basketball Regional
SALISBURY, N.C. – Catawba will face off against UNC Pembroke at 8 p.m. on Saturday in the opening round of the NCAA II Tournament at the Levine Center on the campus of Queens University. The Catawba Indians are the #4-seed in the Southeast Regional and are ranked 24th in this week’s NABC Coaches Poll.
The regional will tipoff at noon on Saturday with USC Aiken taking on Lenoir-Rhyne. Augusta and Francis Marion will follow the opening game. The night session starts at 5:30 with Queens against Emmanuel, followed by Catawba and UNC Pembroke. Tickets are $10 for adults per session and $5 for college students with ID, children 17 and under and seniors 62 or older.
Catawba is one of four ranked teams in the regional. Queens, the seed, is ranked 10th nationally. Augusta, the second seed, and USC Aiken, the third seed, come in ranked 16th and 17th, respectively. Sixth-seeded Lenoir-Rhyne and seventh-seeded Francis Marion is receiving votes.
The Indians have faced four of the teams that qualified for the regional, going 3-4 in those contests. The Indians topped Francis Marion to open the season then fell to UNC Pembroke in overtime. Catawba took two of three from Lenoir-Rhyne and lost two down-to-the-wire games with Queens.
