Men's Tennis Falls Short Against Queens

SALISBURY, N.C. -- Catawba dropped a 5-2 decision to 16th-ranked Queens in South Atlantic Conference men’s tennis action on Wednesday afternoon at the Johnson Tennis Center. The Royals improve to 10-4 overall and 6-2 in the SAC, while the Catawba Indians fall to 10-8 and 3-4.

Catawba lost the doubles point despite a win #1 by Luca Picci and Ryen Reid, who win 9-7 in a tiebreaker. Picci also claimed a victory in singles match at #1, picking up a 6-1, 6-1 win. Jack Joel grabbed the other point for the Indians with a win at #3 in three sets, 6-3, 1-6, 6-4.

Catawba is at Newberry next Tuesday for a 2 p.m. match.
