Baseball #3-Seed For Regional, Begins Play Thursday at Newberry
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- The NCAA announced the 2019 Division II Baseball Tournament field on Sunday night and Catawba will be the #3 seed in the Southeast Region. The Catawba Indians will open play on Thursday night against #6-seed Young Harris. The games will take play at Newberry College.
The Southeast Region II will feature three of the six teams in the region. Newberry is the #2-seed. The double-elimination tournament will take place Thursday through Saturday at the Smith Road Complex.
The loser of Thursday’s opening game will face Newberry on Friday afternoon, while the winner will face Newberry on Friday night. Tickets are $10 each day with a $5 price for students.
The winner of the Southeast Region II Tournament will face the winner of the Southeast Region I Tournament in a best two-of-three series the weekend of May 9-11 at the site of the highest remaining seed. The other regional will be hosted by top-seeded North Greenville. It will also feature fourth-seed Mount Olive and fifth-seed Lincoln Memorial.
