SALISBURY, N.C. -- West Georgia scored twice in the final four minutes of the first half and iced the game with a pair of fourth-quarter scores as the 15th-ranked Wolves topped host Catawba 37-9 in football action on Saturday afternoon at Shuford Stadium and Kirkland Field. It marked the season opener for both teams.

Leading 10-3 after a quarter, Nasier Currie-Sadler intercepted a pass and returned it 35 yards for a score to put West Georgia up 17-3. After Catawba failed on a fake punt, the Wolves cashed in on a 30-yard drive with Chauncey Williams scoring from four-yards out with just 23 second remaining before the break.

West Georgia answered that drive on a five-yard run by Willie Candler then added a final score on a 48-yard run by Eric Swinney with 40 seconds to play.
