Women's Soccer Stays Hot With 2-0 Victory Over Tusculum


Salisbury, NC -- It was another win for the Catawba women's soccer team (9-2-1, 5-1-1 SAC) as they took care of business against Tusculum (6-8, 2-5 SAC) by the score of 2-0. Shelby Vasich scored both goals in the first half for the Indians to give Catawba the win.

The game was controlled by the Indians throughout as they out-shot Tusculum 33-10. Vasich led the team with a game high 11 shots.

Vasich's first goal came off an assist by Maddie Capel in the 15th minute. Her second goal was assisted by Callie Hammond right before the end of the first half.

Catawba kept control during the second half despite not coming through with another goal. The Indians keep pace near the top of the SAC standings with the win.

Next up for Catawba is a big match-up against conference leading Carson-Newman on October 26. Game time is set for 5:30 pm at Frock Soccer Complex.
