Men's Soccer Falls 6-3 to Tusculum
Salisbury, NC -- It was a tough night for Catawba (6-6, 2-5 SAC) as they fell at home to Tusculum (4-6-2, 3-3-1 SAC) by the score of 6-3.
Tusculum scored three goals in the first half as they would hold a 3-1 lead at halftime. Just four minutes in to the match, TU Sokho De Souza scored on a penalty kick to make it 1-0. That early goal would give Tusculum the momentum they needed to kick-start a strong half.
Sander Johansen would make it 2-0 in the 18th minute, but just ten minutes later Keenan Tuck scored on a rocket from just outside the box to make it 2-1.
Late in the half Nikola Vujicic scored to bring the Tusculum advantage to 3-1.
Tusculum would score the first two goals of the second half to put the game out of reach as they held a 5-1 advantage early in half number two. Simone Trentin squeezed one through multiple defenders in the 68th minute to give Catawba their second goal of the game.
The final Indians goal was scored again by Trentin in the 78th minute, but it would be too little, too late for Catawba as they would drop their sixth match of the season.
Next Saturday, Catawba is back at home when they face off against Carson-Newman at 8 pm.
