Beck Earns SAC AstroTurf Women's Soccer Weekly Honor
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) -- Catawba defender Katie Beck was named the South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for week nine of the 2019 season as announced by the league office on Tuesday. Lincoln Memorial forward Jessica Cravero was named the SAC Offensive Player of the Week.
Beck, a sophomore from Clermont, Fla., anchored the Catawba defensive line that posted two shutouts last week in a pair of 1-0 wins against Limestone and Anderson. In addition to Beck’s stellar defensive play, she also contributed on the offensive side of the ball, scoring the game-winning goal for the Indians against Anderson. This is Beck’s first defensive player of the week accolade of the season.
Cravero, a sophomore from Montenerodibisaccia, Italy, led the Railsplitters to a 3-0 win over Coker last week. She provided all the offensive power needed in the win, scoring all three goals, earning her fourth career hat trick. This is the third offensive player of the week honor of the season for Cravero.
