Women's Soccer Loses 3-1 in SAC Quarterfinals
Salisbury, NC -- It was a tough afternoon at Frock Soccer Complex as the Catawba women's soccer team (11-3-3) lost 3-1 to Lincoln Memorial (14-4) in the quarterfinals of the SAC tournament.
For the Indians, they had to play shorthanded on the match with big injuries to senior Shelby Vasich and redshirt freshman Sarah Bissett. The Catawba defense played solid in half number one, but as the second half went on the LMU offense got rolling as all three of their goals were scored in half number two.
The lone goal for Catawba came from freshman Callie Hammond late in the second half. Hammond came off the bench for the Indians and played a solid match.
The Indians will now await a potential bid to the NCAA tournament once the SAC tournament is completed next weekend. Stay tuned to gocatawbaindians.com and our social media pages for updates.
