Catawba Rolls Past Mars Hill for Seventh Win of the Season
Mars Hill, NC -- For the seventh time this season the Catawba men's basketball team (7-2, 3-1 SAC) scored a win as they defeated Mars Hill (5-5, 3-1 SAC) 94-76. Six Indians players scored in double figures on the afternoon.
Catawba would have control for much of the contest as they led almost wire to wire. The first half saw a close battle as the Indians took a four point lead into the halftime break.
Larry McLeod and Malik Constantine led the way in half number one for Catawba, as McLeod scored 11 points while Constantine had 10. The Indians shot 45% in the first half while shooting 5-14 from long range.
About halfway through the second period, the Indians took full control and wouldn't look back. Terrence Whitfield helped the Catawba cause off the bench as he scored 10 of his 12 points in the second half. Devin Cooper and McLeod would both finish with 15 points.
Daquan Lilly posted a double-double scoring 13 points and dominating the boards with 15 rebounds. Marcell Haskett also came through with 14 points of his own.
Next up for Catawba is a Wednesday morning contest next week as the Indians play host to Wingate at 11 am.
