The Indians fell by the scores of 6-0 and 5-4 in eight innings. The losses drop the Tribe to 2-3 on the year, while Barton improves to 2-2. In the opener, Eric McInerny delivered a two-out single in the opening frame to give the Bulldogs the lone run they would need. In the fourth, Barton added a run off an error and a wild pitch before a solo home run by Dennis Blackmon put the hosts up 3-0 after four innings. Barton would break the game open in the fifth, getting a RBI single from Blackmon and a two-run base knock from McInerny. Catawba managed just four hits of Wes Miller, who walked three and struck out four in the complete game effort. In the seventh, Will Walmsley led off the Bulldog inning with a pinch hit single, but was erased at home on Travis Holloman’s ensuing double. Holloman would go to third on the play and scored the tying run on a sacrifice fly by Justin Wilkes. Barton would score the game-winner in the eighth.
