Women's Lacrosse Downed by #15 Limestone
SALISBURY, N.C. -- Visiting Limestone, ranked 15th in NCAA II, claimed a 17-5 victory over Catawba in women’s lacrosse action on Wednesday afternoon at Shuford Stadium. The Saints up their record to 5-1, while the Catawba move to 1-4.
Limestone never trailed as the Saints scored the opening nine goals. Britannie Ouimet had three of those goals. Brookyn put Catawba on the board with eight minutes to go in the half and added another early in the second half as the Lady Indians cut the margin to 9-3. From there, the Saints added six straight goals to move ahead 15-3.
Tilley and Katie Barth scored twice for Catawba. Gianna Pezzulo and Erin Young had two assists. Jillian Kurolvech had the other tally for the Lady Indians. Aryn Dorr racked up 18 saves in goal and caused four turnovers.
Julia Foster and Elizabeth Muscella each had four goals for Limestone. Foster added three assists, as did Ouimet. Megan Davis scored three goals. Limestone held a 45-19 edge in shots and won 19 of 23 draw controls.
Catawba travels to Young Harris for a 4 p.m. game on Friday.
