Tilley and Barth Net Four Goals; Dorr Breaks Saves Record in Loss at YHC

YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. -- Catawba dropped a 16-11 decision to host Young Harris in women’s lacrosse action on Friday afternoon at a cold and blustery YHC Soccer and Lacrosse Complex. The Mountain Lions even their record at 3-3, while the Catawba Indians fall to 1-5.

Catawba took a 5-2 lead at the break. Katie Barth scored twice midway through the first period to break a 2-2 tie and Brooklyn Tilley added a goal with a minute left.

Young Harris quickly erased that deficit to start the second half. The Mountain Lions reeled off eight goals in eight minutes to go up 10-5. Aubrie Valvo had four of the goals, including three in a two-minute span for an 8-5 lead.

Catawba goals by Gianna Pezzulo, Tilley and Nicole English got the Lady Indians within 12-9 with 6:20 to go, but a three-goal spurt by Young Harris pushed the margin back to six.

Barth and Tilley each had four goals for Catawba. Pezzulo had two goals and four assists. Aryn Dorr broke her own school record with 20 saves for the Lady Indians and caused four turnovers.
