Volleyball Announces Four Signees For 2020 Indoor Season
SALISBURY, N.C. -- Patrick Nicholas, Director of Catawba Volleyball, has announced four signings for the 2020 indoor season this fall. Joining Catawba will be Sidney Bing (Gastonia, N.C.), Allison Bryant (Kelseyville, Calif.), Arianna Colon (Orlando, Fla.) and Gabrielle Kuzma (Highlands Ranch, Colo.).
“We are very excited about the addition of Sidney, Allison, Arianna & Gabrielle to our family,” said Nicholas. “These are four very special young women who will bring great skill sets to our program. Their addition will have a big impact on the culture and direction of our program.”
Bing is a 5-9 setter at Gaston Day for six years. She earned All-State honors three times and earned all-conference honors five times. Bing earned AVCA All-Region 2 honors in 2019. She helped the Spartans to state runner-up finishes during her junior and season seasons.
During her career, she set Gaston Day’s career assist record with 3,702. She added 1,009 digs, 377 kills 200 aces and 90 blocks. She played club with Upward Stars in Spartanburg, S.C.
Bryant is 5-10 hitter/setter from Kelseyville High School. She helped the Knights to four NCLI Championships. A four-sport athlete, Bryant was an honorable mention pick in volleyball, softball and tennis. Volleyball posted a 53-1 record during her career.
Colon is a 5-9 hitter from Pasco-Hernando State College. At PHSC, she posted 405 kills over two seasons with 154 digs and 42 blocks. Colon served as captain as a senior at Freedom High School and helped the Patriots to a third place district finish.
Kuzma is a 5-6 libero from Valor Christian High School. She was a 5A All-State honorable mention pick and a 1st Team All-Academic performer. Kuzma earned first team all-league honors and helped the Eagles to a state runner-up finish.
