Men's Basketball Announces Signing of Kris Robinson

SALISBURY, N.C. -- Catawba College men’s basketball coach Rob Perron is excited to announced the signing of Kris Robinson, one of the top guards in North Carolina. Robinson has starred at Lincolnton High School and for the Combine Academy Goats.

While at Lincolnton, Robinson, where he averaged 29.6 points, 4.7 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 2.1 steals. Last season for nationally-ranked Combine Academy, he averaged just under 11 points a game, while adding three rebounds, two assists and 1.7 steals. Robinson scored 24 points against yearly power Oak Hill Academy.

“Kris embodies everything you want in a player and as a person,” said Perron. “He has tremendous basketball skill and intelligence. We feel like he can play more than one position and will constantly make everyone around him better. He has demonstrated his ability to play well against top notch competition and will be a great asset to the Catawba Community.”
Coached by University of North Carolina great Jeff McInnis he adds that “Kris is a great basketball player but he is an even better person! He can really shoot the basketball and has a very high IQ on and off the court. He is a very underrated defender! Great student in the classroom, it’s a great get for Catawba and great fit for both!”

What is Catawba Getting in Kris Robinson
National Recruiting Analyst Jamie Shaw says…

“First thing you notice about Kris Robinson is the jumper, he has taken and made some huge shots in his career, with confidence. However, as you peel back the layers of his game you notice the hard work mentality and the competitive nature he brings. He is a very good defender with the ability to act as a secondary initiator with the ball. In his career he has dominated games with his scoring, multiple 50+ games on record, or he can provide a spacing 3 & D option for his team. He’s a team guy who has won a lot of games.”

What is Catawba Getting in Kris Robinson
Phenom Hoops says…
“He is a Microwave. He can get it going really quick. Has the ability to really change the game and change it fast with how well he can shoot.” – Tyler Lewis from Phenom Tip-Off Classic

“Robinson may not be regarded as the highest-rated prospect but he may be one of the biggest keys to this team.  His understanding of the game, his ability to play on and off the ball, and really help spread the floor with his outside shot is going to be important for this team. Also, his leadership.” – Patrick O’Brien during Combine Open Gym

“Robinson continues to play his role for his team.  Knocking down shots from the perimeter but also showing that he can create for himself to get easy opportunities at the rim.” – Patrick O’Brien from Phenom Challenge
