Davis racks up six more RBI in Baseball split with LMUSALISBURY, NC -- Catawba College and Lincoln Memorial battled to a split in a baseball doubleheader on Saturday afternoon at Newman Park. LMU won the opener 6-4, while the Indians earned the split with an 8-0 decision in the second game. Catawba is now 7-7 on the season, while the Railsplitters are 2-8. A two-out, two-run double by Nick Lefko (Faith, NC) helped Catawba grab a 4-0 lead after an inning of the opener. Lincoln Memorial tied the game in the sixth as Was Strader (Anaheim, CA) capped a three-run inning with a RBI single. The Railsplitters scored twice in the seventh to take the decision. Taylor Gandy (Yorktown, VA) had a run-scoring single and Johnson Whitehead (Lexington, KY) had a sacrifice fly. Davis hit a pair of home runs, including a grand slam in the first to give the Tribe a 4-0 lead. Mark Smith (Browns Summitt, NC) went 3-for-4 with a pair of RBI for Catawba, while Davis had his five RBI on two dingers. Davis increased his season RBI total to 22 in eight games.
