Catawba Announces Adjustments For Spring Attendance Policies
SALISBURY, N.C. -- The Catawba College Athletics Department, in accordance with current local, state and federal health guidelines, is pleased to announce that with the latest announcement we are able to open our outdoor venues to spectators at 30% of capacity.
Attendance at Newman Park, for baseball, at Whitley Field, for softball, at Frock Field, for soccer, and at Shuford Stadium, for men’s and women’s lacrosse, will now be open to both home and visiting fans up to the 30% of capacity. Catawba does still require that masks be worn at all times and that social distancing policies are still in place.
For its indoor facility, Goodman Gym for volleyball, Catawba will continue to limit spectators to a pass list from the student-athletes and coaches. Students will be allowed to attend until the venue reaches a capacity of 250 spectators.
An announcement on the attendance policy for Catawba’s two home football games will be released soon.
Catawba will continue to monitor guidelines set forth by governmental agencies as the spring progresses. Any decisions regarding future attendance policy changes will be based on the safety of student-athletes, coaches, officials, and staff.
