Catawba plated three unearned runs to take the first game. After an error in the second inning, Shannon Handy (Advance, NC) belted a two-out, two-run double to left field to give Catawba a 2-0 lead. Tina Gonslaves (Kailua, HI) drove home a run for the Knights in the third, but Catawba struck back in the fifth, scoring off a two-out error. St. Andrews would get within a run in the sixth, as Gonsalves scored on a double by Bethany Smith (Lexington, SC).
