Baseball holds off Aiken behind Davis' five RBI dayAIKEN, SC – Catawba sophomore Jimbo Davis (Salisbury, NC) capped a stellar month with a three-hit, five-RBI performance as the Indians defeated host USC-Aiken 10-9 in baseball action at Roberto Hernandez Stadium on Sunday afternoon. Catawba improves to 11-8 and have won five of its last six outings. The Pacers fall to 5-9. Davis finishes the month of February with 33 RBI in 13 games, halfway to the school record of 66. Davis was back at it again in the fourth with a two-run single and the 7-0 lead. Aiken began to chip away at the deficit, scoring single runs in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings. The Pacers would tie the game in the seventh with a four spot. Tony Hanks (Lexington, SC) had a two-run single with two outs and the tying run scored on a wild pitch. The Indians struck in the eighth on back-to-back two-out homers by Spence Southard (Greensboro, NC) and Davis. Nick Lefko (Faith, NC) had a RBI double to cap the frame. Aiken would not die and scored twice in their eighth, but Brian Hatley (Salisbury, NC) got Hanks to foul out with the bases loaded to end the inning. The senior pitched a perfect ninth to earn the save. Southard also enjoyed a three-hit effort for Catawba, while Lefko had a pair of hits. Ashley Farr (W.
