Angie Morton took over the reigns of the Catawba College women’s basketball program in 2003. Catawba has compiled a 195-148 mark under her direction. In 2014-15, Morton guided Catawba to its thid regional berth under her direction.
In 2011-12, Morton was named the South Atlantic Conference Coach of the Year after guiding Catawba to a runner-up league finish and the NCAA II regionals. In her first season, she led Catawba to a 22-9 record and to both the SAC regular-season and tournament titles. The Lady Indians also qualified for the NCAA II Regional. Morton, a 1984 Catawba graduate, returned to her alma mater after serving as head coach at Pfeiffer University for seven seasons where she compiled a 108-90 record.
During her seven years at Pfeiffer, Morton guided the Lady Falcons to a pair of Carolinas-Virginia Conference titles and the school’s first NCAA II playoff berth this past season. The back-to-back 20 win campaigns, including a 24-5 mark in 2003-04, earned Morton consecutive CVAC Coach of the Year honors. Morton was also a CVAC Coach of the Year in softball in 2000 as she led Pfeiffer to the league crown.
Prior to her stint at Pfeiffer, Morton was the girls head coach at West Stanly High School for eight years. She guided the school to playoff appearances in all eight seasons and was RRC Coach of the Year in 1992. She also served as coach at Locust Elementary School and Knox Middle School.
Graduating from Catawba in 1984, Morton earned a bachelor of arts degree in elementary education. At Catawba as Angie Crayton, she earned 10 letters, playing basketball, softball and field hockey. In basketball, Morton played in 86 games and averaged 5.5 points, netting a career high 26 in a loss to Wingate as a senior. She added 163 rebounds and 107 assists. Morton was a .367 career hitter in softball with nine home runs and 74 RBI.
Morton resides in Albemarle with her husband, Randy. They have four children, Matt, Keri, Krista and Tad.

Terrence Baxter joined the Catawba College Women’s Basketball staff in 2013. He serves as the primary assistant to Head Coach Angie Morton, assisting in all phases of the Catawba Women's Basketball program. He was promoted to Associate Head Coach prior to the 2015-16 season. Baxter came to Catawba after serving as an assistant at Queens University.
Baxter is a 2001 graduate of Pfeiffer University with a major in sports management and a minor in business. He played basketball at Pfeiffer from 1996-2001, where he was a two-time all CVAC and All-Region performer. Baxter led the Falcons to two CVAC regular season championships and to the NCAA Sweet 16. He was also named to Dick Vitale's top ten D-II players in 2000-2001 according to Street & Smith Magazine.
Baxter returned to Pfeiffer in 2006 as an assistant with the men's basketball team. He also served as Head Coach of Pfeiffer's junior varsity program. Baxter left Pfeiffer to join the women’s basketball staff at Brevard College. Baxter served as Brevard’s top assistant for three years and assisted in all phases of the women program. Baxter then spent two seasons as the recruiting coordinator and assistant at Queen’s University before coming to Catawba.
Baxter currently resides in Charlotte, NC, and has a son, Jairez.
