ABOUT THE PROGRAM
The objectives of the Catawba College Dance Team are as follows: to promote school spirit, to share the love and talents of members of the team, and to overall enhance the college experience of not only team members but of all Catawba students. The Catawba College Dance Team performs for football, men’s basketball, and women’s basketball. We are also involved in some community service activities and community outreach programs.
Team members are expected to participate in all scheduled activities: camp, games (and tournaments), practices, workouts and lift, community service activities, performances, competitions, and any judging opportunities.
Catawba College Dance Team members will receive a renewable scholarship for dancing. Scholarships will be given to team members at the beginning of fall and spring semesters, with the understanding that it will be forfeited for that season if the dancer doesn’t keep their academic standing or fails to comply with team and school rules and regulations.
To be eligible for tryouts, students must be currently enrolled with a 2.3 GPA or higher, and in good standing with the college, or an incoming freshman/transfer student who has been accepted at Catawba College.
