2010-2011 Tryout Information ABOUT THE CATAWBA INDIANS:
The Catawba College Cheerleaders are responsible for the spirit and support of Catawba athletics. We cheer for home and away football games. We also cheer at both men’s and women's basketball games, all home games and a limited number of away games. In addition, we judge many local cheerleading try-outs and competitions.
MEMBER REQUIREMENTS:
Students selected to cheer at Catawba College are expected to participate in all squad activities: various community service projects, all practices and workouts, fundraisers, judging opportunities, performances and games.
TRYOUT DATES AND REQUIREMENTS:
To be eligible for cheerleading tryouts, students must be currently enrolled or incoming freshman/transfer students who have been accepted for the Fall 2010 semester at Catawba College. You are encouraged to send a skills tape with your application.
SCHOLARSHIPS:
There are a limited number of scholarships available for the 10-11 school year for qualified athletes.

If unable to make the April date you may tryout by video. Please contact me and I will be glad to let you know of the video guidelines.
Tryouts will consist of cheer, chant, dance, jumps, stunts, and tumbling. We will be looking for strong fundamental skills. Tumbling is not required but encouraged. If you cannot tumble please be willing to learn. ALL cheerleaders must be able to run a mile and perform 50 pushups and 75 crunches. We run and condition on a daily basis.
