Do I need to register with the NCAA Eligibility Center?
Any prospective student-athlete must register with the NCAA Eligibility Center if they are:
• currently in high school,
• at a junior college,
• NCAA Div III,
• or NAIA Institution that wants to participate for the first time at a
NCAA Division I or II institution
How do I register with the NCAA Eligibility Center?
You can visit the NCAA Eligibility Center website and begin the registration process From this site you can register and learn more information about the NCAA academic and amateurism certification process.
When should I begin this NCAA registration process?
Catawba College recommends that you register during the spring semester of your junior year in high school.
Is there a cost involved to register?
Yes. There is a $65 registration fee for domestic students and a $95 fee for international students. If you qualified for a fee waiver when taking the SAT or ACT, this fee may be waived via the NCAA Eligibility Center registration process.
I am in college already, but not at a NCAA Division I or II institution, do I have to register?
Yes. Any student-athlete that will be entering a NCAA Division I or II institution for the first time must register with the NCAA Eligibility Center.
A college coach is asking me to take an official visit in the near future, what do I need to do?
You must register with the NCAA Eligibility Center. You must also provide the institution you are visiting with a copy of your PSAT, SAT, or ACT scores. Catawba College also recommends that you submit a copy of your current high school (or college) transcripts as well.
