Our mission is to deliver an elite level sports performance program utilizing the latest methods in the field of strength training, energy system development, and nutrition in order to enhance the athletic development of each student athlete and optimize the success of each team. The Sports Performance Department will strive to support the academic and athletic success in every way possible while following the rules and guidelines set forth by the NCAA.
The Catawba Sports Performance Department is dedicated to the well-being and success of each student athlete. Our goal is to provide the student-athletes with a holistic program designed to enhance their physical and psychological abilities in order to remain resilient to injuries, improve athletic development and performance, and gain a confidence and understanding of life that carries over into more than just sport. Our programs are athlete centered, data driven, assessment based, and focused on individual and team success.
The Sports Performance Department at Catawba College operates out of two separate 2400 sq. ft. weight rooms. Each is outfitted with racks, free weights, bumper plates, dumbbells, and rubber flooring designed with Olympic Weightlifting in mind. There is also various equipment for the rehabilitation of injured athletes.
