Catawba Announces Attendance Policy For Remainder of Spring
SALISBURY, N.C. -- After careful consideration of current local, state and federal health guidelines, the Catawba College Athletics Department is announcing that the school will continue its current attendance policies for its home athletic events.
For Catawba’s remaining football game on April 3 against Barton, Catawba will limit attendance to parents and family members of the student-athletes involved with the football program, as well as, season ticket holders, Catawba students, the band, cheerleading and dance teams and Catawba employees. Maximum capacity for the Barton game is 1,200 spectators and general admission tickets will not be sold to the public.
Catawba will not hold any pre-game Chief’s Club hospitality events or Tailgate America events. Individual tailgating is discouraged and will be limited to the two hours prior to kickoff (11 am to 1 pm). Unvaccinated persons tailgating are required to follow Catawba COVID safety protocols, including wearing a face covering over their mouth and nose and maintaining proper social distancing. Catawba requests off-campus persons minimize their interactions with current Catawba students. Catawba prohibits persons exhibiting COVID symptoms from being present on the Catawba campus.
Spectators allowed inside Shuford Stadium will be required to follow all COVID-19 related protocols, including wearing a face covering over the mouth and nose and maintain proper social distancing.
Attendance at home events other than football will be open to both home and visiting fans up to the 30% of capacity. Catawba does still require that masks be worn at all times and that social distancing policies are still in place.
Catawba will provide a video stream of a majority of its home events. The live stream can be accessed through the gocatawbaindians.com website or on Roku on the SAC Live app.
