Jordan Bowers was named head women's lacrosse coach at Catawba in July 2012. Bowers came to Catawba from Pfeiffer University, where she served as assistant women's lacrosse coach for two years, 2010-12.
Bowers began her coaching career at her alma mater, Guilford College, in 2009. She also served as acting head coach in the fall of 2010 at Pfeiffer, during the head coach’s maternity leave.
As a student athlete at Guilford, Bowers was a four-year starter in women’s lacrosse and team captain in 2008. She earned second team All-Old Dominion Athletic Conference in 2006-2008 and honorable mention as a freshman in 2005.
At the end of her career, Bowers ranked fourth all-time in assists (43), sixth in points (162) and seventh in goals (119) at Guilford. She earned the Guilford women’s lacrosse Unsung Hero Award in 2007 and was selected to the student athlete honor roll in 2005 and 2006.
In 2006, Bowers traveled to Australia as part of the Down Under Challenge Team USA International squad. A native of Calais, Vermont, Bowers graduated from Guilford in 2008, earning a bachelor's degree in exercise and sport science.
