Trenton Paul joined Catawba Athletics in January 2019 as a Sports Performance Coach and currently works with the men’s soccer, women’s lacrosse, tennis, golf, and cheerleading programs. Prior to joining the Catawba staff, Paul completed a fellowship coaching position at William Penn University in Iowa.
Paul attended Western Illinois University and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in exercise science in 2016. After returning to WIU for graduate school, Paul completed his master’s degree in exercise science with an emphasis in strength and conditioning and human movement performance in 2018.
While attending school, Paul completed undergraduate internships at the University of Illinois for baseball, softball, and soccer, Western Illinois University for football, and a graduate internship at Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville with men’s and women’s basketball, soccer, and volleyball. As a graduate assistant, Paul was contracted through WIU as a strength and conditioning coach for a local high school in Macomb, Illinois.
In addition to his degrees, Paul is a certified strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS) through the NSCA and a USA Weightlifting Level 1 Coach. He also has competed nationally in USA Weightlifting since 2015.
