Men's Lacrosse Closes Out 12-13 Athletic Season With Loss to Belmont Abbey

SALISBURY, NC -- Belmont Abbey used a big second quarter to pull away from host Catawba as the Crusaders posted a 20-13 win in men's lacrosse action on Saturday night at Shuford Stadium.  Belmont Abbey improves to 11-5, while the Catawba Indians end their season at 9-8.

Scheich Sets Points Record in Men's Lacrosse Loss at Limestone

GAFFNEY, NC -- Catawba junior John Scheich (Waxhaw, NC/Weddington HS) set a new school record for points in a season, but the Indians fell to host and NCAA II third-ranked Limestone 13-6 on Saturday afternoon at Saints Field.  The Saints improve to 15-1, while the Catawba Indians fall to 9-7.

Cullop Named MVP of DSC Men's Lacrosse Tournament

WINGATE, NC -- The Deep South Conference released the All-Tournament team for the 2013 Lacrosse Tournament on Tuesday and Catawba senior Tom Cullop (New Windsor, MD/S. Carroll HS) was named the Most Valuable Player.  He was joined on the team by Catawba teammates Christian Klimczyk (Linthicum, MD/Cardinal Gibbons School), John Scheich (Waxhaw, NC/Weddington HS) and Steven Ridolfo (Charlotte, NC/Providence HS/Gettysburg).

Cullop's Overtime Winner Gives Men's Lacrosse DSC Tourney Title

WINTER PARK, FL -- Senior Tom Cullop (New Windsor, MD/S. Carroll HS) scored with 22 seconds left in the first overtime period to give the Catawba Indians a 10-9 win over Tampa for the 2013 Deep South Conference Lacrosse Tournament Championship on Sunday afternoon at Baker Stadium and Cahall-Sandspur Field.  It marks the third straight DSC Tournament title for the Catawba Indians, who improve to 9-6.  The Spartans fall to 10-5.
