(8/22/10) Owens Picks Up Second Relay Gold at IPC Swimming World Championships  EINDHOVEN, THE NETHERLANDS – Catawba sophomore Ashley Owens (Stockbridge, GA/Stockbridge HS) picked up her third gold medal at the 2010 International Paralympic Committee Swimming World Championships, helping the 4 x 100 medley relay team to a win on Friday night at the Pieter Van Den Hoogenband Swimming Stadium. Owens completed the meet with a fifth place finish in the three mile open water swim on Saturday. Owens finished the world championships with four medals (3 gold, 1 silver).
 | (7/28/10) Karlsson and Men's Swim Team Grab Academic Honors  The Catawba College men’s swim team has been honored as an All-Academic Team by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA). It marks the sixth straight semester the team has achieved the honor and had a 3.20 GPA this past spring.
 | (4/6/10) Owens Qualifies For United States Paralympic Swim Team  SAN ANTONIO, TX -- Catawba College freshman swimmer, Ashley Owens (Stockbridge, GA/Stockbridge HS), recently competed at the United States Paralympics Spring Swimming Nationals and earned a spot on the US National Team. Owens has competed in two Paralypic Games (2004 & 2008), winning four medals (two gold) and one World Championship, where she claimed four gold medals in 2006.
 | (3/13/10) Drakes Swims to Honorable Mention All-America Honors  CANTON, OH – Catawba senior Patrik Drakes (Stockholm, SWEDEN/Rudbechs) closed out a decorated career with the Indians, swimming to honorable mention All-America honors at the 2010 NCAA II Swimming and Diving Championships being held at the Branin Natatorium. Drakes swam both the 100 and 200 breaststroke at the NCAA II Nationals the last two years.
