Lo Earns Spot On NCCSIA All-State Volleyball Team

CHARLOTTE, NC – Catawba senior libero, Mai Zoua Lo (Hickory, NC/Foard HS) was selected to the 2009 North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information Association’s College Division All-State Volleyball Team.  She was one of six to receive the honor with the South Atlantic Conference claiming four of the six picks.

Lo And Meeks Garner Post-Season Volleyball Honors

Catawba senior libero, Mai Zoua Lo (Hickory, NC/Foard HS), and sophomore outside hitter, Shay Meeks (Kings Mountain, NC/Kings Mountain HS), have earned post-season honors from the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA).  Lo was named first team All-Southeast Region, while Meeks earned honorable mention honors.  Lo was also selected to the Daktronics All-Southeast Region Team.

Volleyball Season Ends in Five-Set Loss at NCAA Regionals

WINGATE, NC -- Carson-Newman won a suspenseful fifth set to take a 3-2 victory over Catawba in the opening round of the 2009 NCAA Division II Southeast Regional volleyball tournament on Friday night, hosted by Wingate University in Cuddy Arena.  The fourth-seeded Lady Eagles won 11-25, 25-23, 25-20, 22-25, 19-17 in a two hour-plus match.  With the victory, Carson-Newman improves to 23-9 overall and advances to a semifinal match-up with top-seeded Wingate.  Catawba concludes its season at 17-12.

Video and Live Stats Available for NCAA Volleyball Regional

 Wingate University will provide video and live stats for those who cannot attend this weekend’s regional volleyball tournament.  Catawba will open play on Friday at 5 p.m. against Carson-Newman.  Tickets for the tournament are $9 per session for adults, $5 for students and $3 for children 12 and under.  Follow the links below for all the tournament action on your computer.
