WINGATE, NC -- Catawba shot just 30% and was beaten badly on the boards (55-33) in a 75-59 loss at Wingate in South Atlantic Conference women’s basketball action on Wednesday night at Cuddy Arena. A10-0 run late in the first half provided the Bulldogs with a comfortable lead it never gave up. Wingate improves to 12-9 overall and 5-5 in the SAC, while the Catawba Indians fall to 13-7 and 6-3.

Hicks Powers Women's Basketball Into First-Place Tie With OT Win at Carson-Newman
JEFFERSON CITY, TN -- Catawba overcame an early overtime deficit to upset 12th-ranked Carson-Newman 75-66 in South Atlantic Conference women’s basketball action on Wednesday night at Holt Fieldhouse. Sophomore Dana Hicks (York, SC/Gaston Day) scored 26 points and grabbed a career-high 18 rebounds to lead the Catawba Indians into a first place tie with Carson-Newman, Lenoir-Rhyne and Newberry. Catawba improves to 13-6 overall and 6-2 in the SAC with its fifth straight win. The Lady Eagles fall to 16-2 and 6-2.
