(8/30/10) Radio Host Mark Packer To Be on Hand for Catawba's Home Football Opener Sept. 4  Popular sports radio host, Mark Packer, also known as "the Packman," will be on hand for Catawba's home football opener against St. Augustine on Saturday, Sept. 4. This game is also the first in a series of themed game days, with Police Officers, Firefighters and Emergency Responders to be admitted free along with three of their guests to the 7 p.m. match-up against St. Augustine.
 | (7/28/10) Catawba Hopes to Fill Stadium at Home Football Games through Themed Games  The Catawba College Chiefs Club hopes to fill Shuford Stadium during home football games this fall by promoting themed game days. On different Saturdays, a different organization or segment of the local population will be targeted and offered free admission to the games. According to Gordon Kirkland, Catawba's director of athletic development, this Chiefs Club initiative "is an effort to promote what we've got here and to expose more people to it. Folks don't know how much fun they can have on a Saturday at a Catawba football game."
 | (7/23/10) Eight Named to Preseason SAC Football Team  ROCK HILL, SC -- Catawba was picked seventh in the 2010 Preseason South Atlantic Conference Coaches’ Poll. The Indians finished eighth in the league last season after suffering three league losses by a field goal or less. Catawba returns 14 starters and 34 letterwinners from a year ago with eight being placed on the preseason all-conference teams.
