Catawba defender Anna Toole (Greenville, SC/Mann HS) has been named to the North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information Association (NCCSIA) 2012-13 College Division All-State Women's Soccer Team.  Twenty-one players representing 12 different North Carolina Colleges and Universities were named to the teams which were announced on Wednesday.

Catawba’s Carson Smith (Mooresville, NC/Mooresville HS) has been named to the 2012-13 North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information Association (NCCSIA) College Division All-State Men’s Soccer Team.  Twenty-two players representing eight different North Carolina Colleges and Universities were selected to the first and second teams as announced by the organization on Tuesday.

ROCK HILL, SC -- The South Atlantic Conference Athletic Directors Council has named Catawba’s Chris Dula (Troutman, NC/S. Iredell HS) and Wingate’s Jade Montgomery as the league’s 2012-13 Athletes of the Year.  It was announced on Tuesday by the league office.  Dula, a member of the Catawba baseball team, was selected as the SAC Male Athlete of the Year, while Montgomery, who plays soccer, was chosen as the Female Athlete of the Year.  Dula becomes the fifth SAC Athlete of the Year in Catawba history, while Montgomery is the seventh Wingate student-athlete to earn the distinction.

ROCK HILL, SC -- 806 student-athletes spanning all 10 of the SAC’s member institutions have been named to the 2012-13 SAC Commissioner’s Honor Roll in recognition of their academic achievements.  Catawba had the second-most honorees as the school produced 92 selections.

Catawba baseball players Chris Dula (Troutman, NC/S. Iredell HS) and Nick Lomascolo (Mooresville, NC/Lake Norman HS) were both selected in last weekend’s Major League Baseball Draft.  The two make the eighth and ninth Catawba players drafted since 2008.

MOUNT ULLA, NC  -- Scott Young and Mike Gurley now have some company at West Rowan.  Young, the football coach, and Gurley, the hoops coach, have both been named North Carolina Coach of the Year.  Nick Brown, a former men's soccer standout at Catawba College, is joining them as he was named the N.C. Women's Soccer Coach of the Year.

Davidson HS) have earned academic honors as Capital One All-District selections.  Crifasi earned honors in men’s cross country, while Myers was honored in women’s cross country and the at-large team with women’s tennis.

Catawba junior first baseman Chris Dula (Troutman, NC/S. Iredell HS) has been named a consensus All-American in 2013.  Dula was named a first team All-American by Daktrnoics and the NCBWA, while he garnered second team honors from the ABCA.  Senior pitcher Nick Lomascolo (Mooresville, NC/Lake Norman HS) was an honorable mention selection by Daktronics and the NCBWA.
