FOREST CITY, N.C. -- Wingate knocked off top-seeded Catawba twice on Monday afternoon to claim the 2015 South Atlantic Conference Baseball Tournament Championship at McNair Field.  The Bulldogs won by the scores of 8-2 and 11-5 and improved to 32-21 on the year.  The 12th-ranked Catawba Indians fell to 38-12.

FOREST CITY, N.C. -- Catawba outlasted Tusculum to advance to Monday's final undefeated after claiming a 10-7 win at the 2015 South Atlantic Conference Baseball Tournament on Sunday afternoon at McNair Field.  The top-seeded and 12th-ranked Catawba Indians improve to 38-10 and need just one win to claim its second straight tourney title.  The Pioneers fall to 29-17 and will face Wingate later on Sunday for a chance to reach the final.

HARTSVILLE, S.C. -- Catawba won its first championship in fast pitch softball by topping Anderson 7-3 to claim the title at the 2015 South Atlantic Conference Softball Tournament on Sunday afternoon at Byerly Park.  The third-seeded Catawba Indians improve to 29-15 and gain an automatic berth into the NCAA II Southeast Region Tournament which will begin on May 8.  The 23rd-ranked Trojans fall to 39-13.

FOREST CITY, N.C. -- Catawba junior Will Albertson (Sophia, N.C./Randleman HS/Campbell) tied both the Catawba and South Atlantic Conference record with his 24th home run of the season to help lift the top-seeded Catawba Indians to a 9-7 win over Lincoln Memorial at the SAC Baseball Tournament on Saturday at McNair Field.  Catawba improves to 37-10 and moves on to face either Newberry or Tusculum on Sunday at 3:45 pm.  The Railsplitters fall to 24-22 and are eliminated from the tournament.

HARTSVILLE, S.C. -- Catawba pounded out 11 hits in advancing to Sunday's South Atlantic Conference Softball Tournament final by topping Newberry 11-2 on Saturday at Byerly Park.  The third-seeded Catawba Indians improve to 28-15 and move to Sunday undefeated in the double-elimination tournament.  The fifth-seeded Wolves fall to 31-21 and will battle Anderson for a chance to get to Sunday's 1 pm championship.  Either team will have to beat Catawba twice to earn the title.

HARTSVILLE, S.C. -- Kim Fesperman (Kannapolis, N.C./S. Rowan HS) was the offensive hero for the second straight game for Catawba with a two-out, three-run double in the sixth that lifted the third-seed to a 3-1 win over Lincoln Memorial on Friday morning at the 2015 South Atlantic Conference Softball Tournament at Byerly Park.  The Catawba Indians improve to 27-15 and advance to the winner’s bracket final on Saturday afternoon at 2:30 pm against the winner of the Carson-Newman/Newberry game.  The seventh-seeded Railspliltters fall to 23-23 and will face an elimination game later on Friday afternoon.

SALISBURY, N.C. -- Catawba will open defense of its South Atlantic Conference Tournament Championship in Forest City, N.C., on Friday at noon against either Anderson or Brevard.  The Indians also won back-to-back tournaments in 2009 and 2010 and have claimed six titles overall.
