ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) -- Catawba guard Jameel Taylor has been named the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for games played Nov. 28-Dec. 4.  It was announced by the conference office on Monday.
 
Taylor, a junior from Anderson, S.C., averaged 19.7 points per game and shot 62 percent from the field to lead the Catawba Indians to three wins last week, including a SAC win over Tusculum.  He highlighted his week with 23 points on 10-of-14 from the floor and one from downtown in Catawba’s 89-86 win over Tusculum on Dec. 3.

Soccer (M): Proch Earns NSCAA All-Southeast Region Honors Soccer (M) http://gocatawbaindians.com/article.asp?articleID=7770

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Catawba freshman midfielder Daniele Proch (Arco, Italy) has been named to the NSCAA All-Southeast Region Third Team men’s soccer squad.  He is the first All-Region selection for Catawba since 2013 and only second since the 2007 season.

SAVANNAH, Ga. -- Catawba finished up the SCAD Invite on Saturday with freshman Mario Zaninovic swimming to a school record in the 1650 free.  The men finished fifth out of 11 schools at the meet with 344.5 points.  The Catawba women were sixth among 14 schools with 144 points.

GREENEVILLE, Tenn. -- Catawba overcame an early 16-point deficit to earn its first South Atlantic Conference men’s basketball win of the season with an 89-86 victory over host Tusculum on Saturday afternoon at Pioneer Arena.  The Catawba Indians improve to 6-2 overall and 1-2 in the SAC, while the Pioneers fall to 4-2 and 2-1.

GREENVILLE, Tenn. -- Marshauna Butler (Bowie, Md./Bowie/Stony Brook) canned four late free throw as Catawba held on to top host Tusculum 60-55 in South Atlantic Conference women’s basketball action on Saturday afternoon at Pioneer Arena.  The Lady Indians improve to 5-2 overall and 2-0 in the SAC, while the Pioneers fall to 1-5 and 0-3.

SAVANNAH, Ga. -- Both Catawba swim teams stand sixth after two days of the SCAD Invite.  The meet is being held at the Chatham County Aquatic Center through Saturday.  The women have posted 102 points and are sixth among 14 schools.  The men have accumulated 206.5 points and are sixth of 11.
