SALISBURY, NC -- Catawba swept a softball doubleheader from visiting Pfeiffer on Tuesday afternoon at Whitley Field.  The Catawba Indians rolled to a 12-0 win in the opener then held off the Falcons for a 6-4 victory in the nightcap.  Catawba improves to 14-9, while Pfeiffer falls to 10-12.

SALISBURY, NC -- Catawba split a doubleheader with 13th-ranked Kutztown in baseball action on Monday afternoon at Newman Park.  Kutztown claimed the opener 12-6, while the host Catawba Indians picked up an 18-4 win in the nightcap.  The Bears stand at 8-1 on the year, while the Indians are 14-6.

GREENEVILLE, TN -- Catawba finished in a tie for third among 17 teams at the Tusculum Invitational men’s golf tournament which concluded on Sunday at the 6,763-yard, par-71 Link Hills Country Club.  Lenoir-Rhyne took the title with a two-round score of 564, topping host Tusculum by 10 shots.  Catawba and Findlay posted a score of 578.

INDIANAPOLIS, IN -- Catawba earned its at-large bid to the NCAA II Southeast Regional and joins the field of 64 teams in the march to the Elite Eight, announced by the NCAA late Sunday night.  The regional will once again be hosted by Augusta State University at Christenberry Arena.   The Catawba Indians (20-10) will be the fourth-seed in the regional and are making their fourth straight trip to the regionals and sixth in the last seven years.  Catawba joins Wingate (1999-02) as the only SAC men’s teams to make the regional four straight years.

SPARTANBURG, SC – The Catawba softball team finished up play at the Mid-South Classic with three straight wins to finish the tournament with a 3-2 record.  After suffering a 2-1 loss to Limestone and a 5-4 defeat to the hands of Montreat, the Lady Indians topped Georgia C&SU 10-9 before knocking off Coker 6-3 and East Stroudsburg 10-8 on Sunday.

HICKORY, NC -- Brevard knocked off top-seeded Catawba 93-92 in dramatic fashion in the South Atlantic Conference Men’s Basketball Tournament championship game on Sunday afternoon at CVCC Arena.  The Tornados earn the league’s automatic berth in the NCAA II Southeast Regional Tournament, while the Catawba Indians will await an at-large bid.  Brevard improves to 21-9 and claims its first-ever league title in any sport.  Catawba, now 20-10, claimed the SAC Championship last weekend with a win over Brevard and entered the week as the region’s #4-rated team.

SALISBURY, NC -- Catawba rolled to an 8-1 win over visiting Newberry in South Atlantic Conference women’s tennis action on Saturday afternoon at the Johnson Tennis Center.  The Catawba women improve to 6-5 overall and 2-1 in the SAC, while Newberry falls to 1-6 and 0-2.  The Catawba Indians moved ahead 3-0 after sweeping the doubles then took five of the singles matches.
