SALISBURY, N.C. -- Newberry outlasted host Catawba to claim a thrilling 108-101 victory in South Atlantic Conference men's basketball action at Goodman Gym on Tuesday night.  Catawba got a monster night from freshman Jarrin Morrison (Charlotte, N.C./E. Mecklenburg HS), but could not overcome 16 three-pointers from the Wolves.  James Stepp canned six of the Newberry three-pointers in scoring 18 points to help the Wolves improve to 6-0 overall and 3-0 in the SAC.  The Catawba Indians drop to 2-3 and 1-2.

SALISBURY, N.C. -- Newberry got 25 points from Samantha Creed (Montmorency, Vic, Australia) and pulled out a 72-64 road win over Catawba in South Atlantic Conference women’s basketball action on Tuesday night at Goodman Gym.  The Wolves, who are ranked 11th in the new D2SIDA national poll, improved to 5-0 overall and 3-0 in the SAC.  The Catawba Indians fall to 3-2 and 1-2.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Catawba closed out the final day of the Wingate Fall Frenzy on Sunday at the Mecklenburg Aquatic Center with two more school records.  Nadine Brockmann (Hamburg, GERMANY/Ossietzsky) added her second of the meet which came in the 100 free and Dominik Brus (Krakow, POLAND/Loms Krakow) posted a new mark in the 200 back.

RADFORD, Va. -- Catawba dropped an 88-52 decision to host Radford in a men's basketball exhibition game on Sunday afternoon at the Dedmon Center.  Freshman Jameel Taylor (Anderson, S.C./Hannah HS) topped the Catawba scorers with 11 points.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Catawba swimmers set two school records and earned three finals swims Saturday on the second day at the Wingate Fall Frenzy at the Mecklenburg Aquatic Center.  School record swims went to Nadine Brockmann (Hamburg, GERMANY/Ossietzsky) in the 200 free and  Jevgenij Gamper (Vilnius, LITHUANIA/Kachialov) in his opening 50 of the 100 breast.

Mars Hill, N.C. -- Chloe Bully’s 21 points was not enough to lift the Catawba College women’s basketball team over Mars Hill who claimed the 82-68 victory Saturday afternoon in Stanford Arena.  The loss was Catawba’s first of the year as they now stand at 3-1 overall and 1-1 in the South Atlantic Conference.  With the win the Lady Lions improve to 2-2 and 1-1 respectively.

Montevallo, Ala. -- Catawba College’s Matthew Jordan-Steele finished in 59th place to lead all Catawba runners Saturday morning in the NCAA DII Cross Country Southeast Regional Championship hosted by Montevallo University.  Erica Boles was the highest placed women’s runner for Catawba in 115th position.

MARS HILL, N.C. -- Catawba led from start to finish in posting an 83-70 win over host Mars Hill in South Atlantic Conference men’s basketball action on Saturday afternoon at Stanford Arena.  Rakeen Brown (Hampton, Va./Bethel HS/Delaware St.) scored 14 of his 21 points in the second half to keep the Catawba Indians out front to level its record at 2-2 overall and 1-1 in the SAC.  The Lions fall to 3-2 and 0-2.
