CHARLOTTE, N.C -- Catawba split a pair of volleyball matches to open the season at the Queens Invitational on Friday at the Levine Center.  The Catawba Indians started with a five-set loss to King then came back late in the afternoon to sweep Mount Olive.

SALISBURY, N.C. -- The Catawba College Football Team will open its 2015 season on Saturday afternoon at home against NCAA II fourth-ranked West Georgia.  It will be the first time since the AFCA Poll begin in 2000 that Catawba will face a ranked opponent to start the season.

SALISBURY, NC -- The Catawba College Athletics Department is sad to announce the passing of long-time assistant tennis coach, Bill Leonard, who passed way early Wednesday morning at the age of 65. Leonard joined the department in 2001-02 under the direction of Jeff Childress. Leonard was close to many members of the team, as well as actively involved in his church, First Baptist of Salisbury.

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The Catawba College men's cross country team was picked eigth and the women 11th in the 2015 South Atlantic Conference preseason polls, as announce by the conference office today. The Mars Hill men and the Wingate women were picked to win the 2015 South Atlantic Conference Cross Country titles. The Lions recorded eight first-place bids to finish with 121 points, while the Bulldogs' squad picked up eight top votes and 125 points as member institutions aren't allowed to vote for their own teams.

Soccer (W): Catawba Voted 5th, Davis First Team in SAC Preseason Polls Soccer (W) http://gocatawbaindians.com/article.asp?articleID=7012

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The Catawba women's soccer team was voted to finish fifth in 2015 based on the recent preseason poll announced by the South Atlantic Conference league office. Also announced was the preseason all-conference teams featuring three Catawba Lady Indians. Bethany Davis garnered first team accolades in goal while Alex Hulsey and Erin Feldman earn second team honors for midfield and defense, respectively. Davis earned All-Region honors and was selected as a Scholar All-American during the 2014 campaign.
