COLUMBUS, Ga. -- Catawba senior second baseman Dylan Richardson (Randleman, N.C./Randleman/Appalachian St.) was named to the 2016 Southeast Regional All-Tournament team.  The team was announced after the conclusion on the regional which was won by Lander.

Baseball: Baseball Closes Season With Loss to Mount Olive Baseball http://gocatawbaindians.com/article.asp?articleID=7555

COLUMBUS, Ga. -- Seventh-seeded Mount Olive claimed a 6-4 win over sixth-seeded Catawba on Friday night in an elimination game of the NCAA II Southeast Region Baseball Tournament at Burger King Stadium.  The Trojans improve to 32-20 with the win and advances to another emilination game tomorrow at 5 pm.  The Catawba Indians ends their season at 34-21.

COLUMBUS, Ga. -- Belmont Abbey tied the game in the bottom of the ninth then won it on Lorenzo Wright's bases loaded single in the 12th as the Crusaders downed Catawba 6-5 in an opening round game of the 2016 NCAA II Southeast Region Baseball Tournament in a contest that finished in the early hours of Friday morning at Burger King Stadium on the campus of Columbus State University.  With the win, the third-seeded and 15th-ranked Crusaders (39-14-1) advance to face Lander on Friday at 5:30 pm.  Catawba (34-20), seeded sixth, falls into an elimination game which is schedule just hours away at 10:30 am against Mount Olive.

Softball: Tysinger Named Second Team Softball All-American Softball http://gocatawbaindians.com/article.asp?articleID=7552

SALISBURY, N.C. -- Catawba senior pitcher Carley Tysinger (Lexington, N.C./C. Davidson) has earned second team All-America honors from both the National Fast Pitch Coaches Association (NFCA) and the Collegiate Commisioners Associaion (CCA).  Tysinger was picked to an All-America team in each of her four seasons.  She was a third team selection by CoSIDA as a freshman and by the NFCA as a sophomore.  Last year, Tysinger was an honorable mention pick by CoSIDA.

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- The NCAA announced its 56-team field for the 2016 Division II Baseball Tournament on Sunday night and Catawba, the champions of the South Atlantic Conference, are seeded sixth in the seven team regional.  The top seed and host for the regional is Columbus State.
